Last night, Thursday the 1st of November, The Allotment was excited to open our doors to Manchester press who wanted to cover our incredible story!
We welcomed an eclectic mix of journalists and bloggers and invited them to dine in a complimentary 5-course banquet from our taster menu, perched cosily in our restaurant area.
Greeted by a bubbling champagne reception an incredible medley of people with a variety of interests all came together in a friendly ambience over their love of delicious, good quality food.
Matt and Siobhan welcomed the likes of BBC Radio Manchester, Gaydio, The Creative Tourist, I love Manchester, Manchester Confidential, Viva Magazine and Perla – who indulged in The Allotment signature dish, Cauliflower hot wings as a zingy appetiser.
The first look at our new premises on Lloyd Street, Manchester where the relaxed and chatty atmosphere was enjoyed by all.
The five courses included Matt Nutter’s speciality Confit Aubergine as well as highly commended creation – Thai Squash Pie – the culinary delight of the season and we can’t forget an abundance of celeriac in all its earthy, mustard glory.
The menu comes with paired beers and wines, some of which are brewed especially on The Allotment site at Lloyd Street – an absolute asset to the freshness of the gorgeous flavours of the beverages.
To experience a fine dining atmosphere in the new premises of The Allotment was magical to watch in motion and set the precedent for a bright, plant-based future in the heart of Manchester.
Rounding off the night with full stomachs, high-spirits and great company with drinks in the bar the eager attendees shared in passionate conversations, photos and a wonderful evening’s end.
Tonight, Matt and Siobhan will do it all again with their first public preview night! Complete with canapés and live entertainment – we’re all so excited, bring it on!
