On Friday November 2nd, The Allotment welcomed hungry plant-based food fans and curious restaurant-goers for the official launch of The Allotment on Lloyd Street, Manchester.
Guests were greeted with a champagne reception and were invited to take photographs of the brand-new restaurant site in Manchester’s vibrant City Centre.
Adorned in greenery The Allotment’s new site really does feel like your very own homely allotment, a serene place for vegetarians, vegans and meat-eaters alike. The atmosphere was glowing in the up-beat live music by Kimmie Smith with the distant sound of excitable chatter among guests.
Friday’s guests were in for a treat with Matt Nutter’s much anticipated plant-based canapés, derived from some of the most popular Chef’s Specials on the five and twelve course taster menus. Help-yourself-canapés included the signature dish, Cauliflower Hotwings (adored by the masses) and miniatures of taster menu favourites; such as Enoki with Shiitake Mousse, Nutmeg roasted Cauliflower on a multi-seed cracker and Deconstructed Thai Squash Pie, best celebrated this season.
Amongst family and friends of co-owners, Matt and Siobhan and Anthony and Gina also in high-spirited attendance was The Real Housewives of Cheshire and Coronation Street’s Tina O Brian sporting a jumper reading the fitting words “love saves the day” adding and sentimental touch to the evening.
The launch was a wonderful success and we’re really pleased to announce that The Allotment, Manchester is now in full swing, open Mondays and Tuesdays from 12 noon ‘til 10pm – serving the signature bar menu only (last orders at 8pm).
